Setting options

In the development of the ForCeLL pedals, emphasis was placed not only on optimal performance, but also on the greatest possible adjustability. From the adjustability of the pedal travel to the hardness adjustment of the individual pedal units.

The greatest increase in performance in terms of lap time is on the brakes. That is why special attention was paid to this. Thanks to the simple yet ingenious solution of the rear suspension (on the spoiler), it is possible with ForCeLL pedals not only to change the hardness of the brake (as with the competition) via the elastomers, but also via the lever on the brake pedal arm.

Adaptability

This interaction results in dozens of adjustment possibilities and the user can adapt the brake much more precisely and extensively to his needs.

However, a multitude of adjustment possibilities also requires a system to make these settings easy to handle. Thanks to the crescent-shaped attachment, the elastomers can be changed here without additional tools and in a matter of seconds. The same system can also be found on the accelerator pedal.

Nevertheless, there are no disadvantages in terms of stability.

In order to accommodate different shoe sizes, the pedal plates can be continuously adjusted by approx. 20 mm. The dimension (measured from the footrest) is between 238 and 258 mm. It is not necessary to remove the pedal plate.

The rest or initial position can be changed for each pedal element in 5 steps of 1° each.

No planned obsolescence

To enable high performance and minimal wear in the long run, all axles are double-bearing with dust-protected 2RS flange bearings (the competition mostly uses plain bearings here). These are also quieter than conventional plain bearings.

Stainless steel is used in various thicknesses (depending on the intended use): the frame is made of 4 mm stainless steel. Heavily loaded elements are even made of 8 mm. The footrest and pedal plates are made of sturdy 3 mm stainless steel.

Electronics

Even though pedal systems consist of 95% mechanical components, the heart is the electronics. Here, we rely on a system by Leo Bodnar with a 16-bit resolution. A few centimetres of pedal travel results in steps in the "five-digit range"..

Technisch arbeiten Gas und Kupplung mit einem Hallsensor. Das Hallsensorgehäuse ist ebenfalls 2RS gelagert um auch dort ein langes Leben zu garantieren. Die Bremse wird per LoadCell über den Druck gesteuert, wie man es auch vom echten Auto kennt.

The accelerator pedal has been optimised for sensitive and very quiet operation. It can also be adapted to the user's requirements in a variety of ways. The hardness can be adjusted in two ways.

  1. Via the preload of the spring, which can be infinitely adjusted with the knurled screw. This can be used for fine adjustment.
  2. On the pedal arm, the slotted hole offers seven detented positions to change the hardness in steps. In total, the hardness can be adjusted in the range of approx. 80 %.

The rest or initial position of the accelerator pedal can be changed in 5 steps of 1° each. The end position can be adjusted continuously.

The stops in the rest and end positions are damped and convey a very valuable and realistic feeling when accelerating.

The brake is the most important instrument of a simracer. It often determines whether we have to talk about a victory or a defeat. The most important thing here is consistency. You can also be fast on a lap with a brake that is "purely based on suspension travel".

But simracing is about consistency. You can only achieve this if you have a braking system where you don't have to think about what you have to do and how, but simply do it intuitively without having to think about right or wrong. It is easier to memorise a pressure point than the pure pedal travel. That was the goal in the development and was confirmed by test persons. 

The brake pressure or resistance can not only be changed by means of exchangeable elastomers in 3 different degrees of hardness (included in delivery), but also in the lever arm. This is made possible by the variable angle of the suspension in the seat, which is open at the top.

There are 7 detented engagement points in the lever arm. The detents serve to prevent accidental adjustment when braking.

This means that over 30 different degrees of hardness can be set to give every simracer the optimum braking feeling. The greatest time gain is achieved on the brakes, so I have placed great emphasis on this element in particular.

Another advantage of the suspension is that the elastomers can be exchanged in seconds ohne tools. The suspended element (orange) is pushed forward from the back - diagonally upwards, then the desired elastomer is replaced. Hook in. Done!

With this system, different configurations can be tried out and tested very quickly.

The end position (rubber bumpers), or rather a feature to be named "communication amplifier during emergency braking", is only responsible for the feeling in the ForCeLL brake, in order to provide the driver with even clearer feedback during emergency braking. The system is optional. If you don't need it, you can simply unscrew the adjustment screw accordingly. This system can also be used, for example, as overload protection in the commercial sector (at trade fairs, etc.) where there are many different users.

The brake pedal has a 120 or 200 kg LoadCell that works extremely precisely -> +- 0.02% accuracy.

Weight: approx. 2.1 - 2.2kg

Rather secondary for performance and no longer used so often in modern cars, a lot of time and work was nevertheless invested in the details during the development of the clutch.

Due to its tilting mechanism, the coupling has a tactile gripping point. This can be changed via the securely guided fastening plate on the side.

The hardness of the spring is selected so that it should fit every user. However, it can be additionally fine-tuned via the preload by means of a knurled nut.

A single-arm attachment (based on the Ducati single-arm swingarm) was chosen to enable simple and quick adjustment and also for visual reasons. 

The rest or initial position of the clutch pedal can be changed in 5 steps of 1° each, as with the accelerator pedal. The end position is fixed. 

The stops are damped in the rest and end positions.

Um dem Simracer diesbezüglich auf der Bremse ein realistisches Gefühl zu geben, kommen bei ForCeLL-Pedalen Elastomerfedern in zwei verschiedenen Längen und drei Härtegraden zum Einsatz. Sie bieten die benötigte progressive Federcharakteristik, bei einer Dauerhaft guten Leistung. Ein großer Vorteil dieser Lösung ist deren Einfachheit und die bei Bedarf schnelle Austauschbarkeit.

Die schwarze Variante gibt es in 20 mm Länge und ist die weichste Variante mit 70ShoreD. Gelbe (80ShoreD) und rote (90ShoreD) Federn gibt es in 20 und 25 mm.

Die Länge hat ebenfalls einen Einfluss auf das Federverhalten. Einfach ausgedrückt.: Umso länger die Feder bei gleicher Materialhärte ist, umso weicher ist sie.

The production is done on a manufactory basis.. Everything is assembled by hand by myself as the owner.
